Carl Stahl ARC Its Facility in Süßen: More Space for Administration, Production, and Logistics
With the expansion of its headquarters in the Schelmenwasen industrial park, Carl Stahl ARC is making a Carl Stahl ARC commitment to its location in Süßen, in the district of Göppingen. The symbolic groundbreaking ceremony marks the start of construction work on an office extension as well as the expansion of the production and warehouse facility. The manufacturer stainless steel cables and mesh for architectural applications is thus responding to growing demand in production, logistics, and administration. The Vollack Group, an expert in sustainable and energy-efficient design and construction, is responsible for the conception, planning, and construction of the expansion.
Extensions with a gross floor area of approximately 2,600 square meters are being built on the roughly 9,000-square-meter site. The production and warehouse facility is being expanded directly, and a new loading dock is being added to optimize external logistics. The two-story office extension will be connected to the existing building via a slender connecting wing. This preserves natural lighting while creating a sheltered outdoor area with a terrace.
’s Own Products Shape the Architecture A particular architectural highlight of the new building is the façade: stainless steel cables and cable nets from the company’s own product portfolio create a striking, modern building envelope that uniquely combines functionality and design. Among other things, these elements support Facade greenery. At the same time, the diverse applications of the products can be experienced firsthand at the company headquarters—from the main entrance to the outdoor terrace.
Andreas Urbez, Managing Director of Carl Stahl Holding, emphasized: “With the expansion of our company building, we are strengthening our presence in Süßen and laying the foundation for further growth. In doing so, we are also utilizing our own products. This allows us to showcase part of our product portfolio and its potential applications to interested customers.”
Guests at the groundbreaking ceremony included Tobias Jung, Managing Director of
at Carl Stahl ARC, and Gerhard Emberger, Authorized Signatory and Technical Director of
at Schwenger, the company Builder the construction project as Builder and managing the real estate
portfolio of the corporate group.
Sustainable Construction and Efficient Technology
Vollack relies on sustainable materials and modern building technology. The office building is being constructed as structure single-shell structure aerated concrete elements, which can be separated by material type and does not require an external thermal insulation composite system. A heat pump supplements the existing pellet system, while heat recovery systems reduce energy consumption. A photovoltaic system is planned for the hall roof. Modern ventilation systems ensure a comfortable indoor climate. The production hall will feature controlled night cooling for energy-efficient climate control. Additionally, the necessary infrastructure for future expansions is already being established.
Benjamin Reis, partner and project manager at Vollack Süd, explained: “In this project, we combine functional requirements with an architecture that visually communicates Carl Stahl ARC core business Carl Stahl ARC the outside world, and with sustainable construction methods. The integration of greening systems into the facade creates a building with a unique character that will also have a positive impact on the microclimate and biodiversity.”
Room for Growth
Upon completion, the site will provide space for approximately 140 workstations. The outdoor areas will be redesigned to include, among other things, flowering meadows and infiltration areas. The number of parking spaces will increase to 63. Completion is scheduled for May 2027.
