EAZA Directors' Days 2026!

From April 13–17, we attended the EAZA Directors’ Days at Safaripark Beekse Bergen (Netherlands) - a unique zoo featuring expansive, savanna-like enclosures where visitors can experience the animals almost as if on a safari.

The focus was on the strategic priorities of European zoos and their contribution to species conservation and public education in the coming years.

In numerous workshops, participants engaged intensively with current issues - ranging from species conservation and research to species-appropriate animal care and international “in situ” projects. The collective exchange demonstrated how important networked collaboration is for the sustainable and future-oriented development of zoos.
