Light structures - strong ideas: Workshop with Frankfurt UAS at Carl Stahl ARC

Last Friday, we welcomed architecture students and Prof. Timo Carl from the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences to our premises for an interdisciplinary workshop. The focus was on the development of a lightweight, flexible solar sail that will be used at the Superbloom Festival 2025 in Munich. The design combines creative lightness with functional innovation - through the use of organic photovoltaic modules (OPV) embedded in textile cable mesh structures. Clemens Freitag (Carl Stahl ARC GmbH) accompanied the workshop and provided insights into the potential of cable structures and innovative material solutions. The project is part of a research-based Design & Build Studio in which teaching, design and implementation come together - and which we are happy to support with our expertise. We are delighted to be part of this exciting, future-oriented process - and are looking forward to seeing the final results at the Superbloom Festival in August!
