Project details

Amaranth Changwon

The Changwon Sculpture Biennale in South Korea is one of the most important sculpture shows in Southeast Asia. One of the most impressive works was the giant Amaranth Blossom, a sculptural homage to the country's art-loving spirit. The installation made of stainless steel and light captivated numerous visitors, especially with its nocturnal illumination with 2,100 LED dots.

Our X-TEND® Colours stainless steel mesh formed the basis of the flower shape and impressed with its stability and flexibility. At the same time, our X-LED light modules provided precise and impressive lighting effects, which were effective both inside and outside the installation.

The artwork comprised 33 mesh panels, which were decorated with 800 X-LED Dots. The outer shell of the flower was completely wrapped in X-TEND® Colours red and was given its special radiance by an additional 1,300 points of light. The combination of robust stainless steel mesh and energy-efficient LED technology gave the flower its unique presence.

Whether in daylight or in the dark - the amaranth blossom fascinated visitors with its unusual design and shone as a symbol of modern art and technology.
