With an impressive length of 18.5 meters, the OLED installation "The Source" extends across all three sales levels up to the glass roof, making it one of the largest of its kind in the world. The installation consists of 36 individual platforms, each with a span of two meters and carrying 12 organic LEDs. These LEDs can be controlled individually, which enables fascinating color changes and creative plays of light. The combination of technology and design creates a dynamic and visually impressive atmosphere that enhances the overall spatial concept.
For "The Source", Carl Stahl Architektur developed a tailor-made support system that meets the high requirements for stability and aesthetic integration. Special wire cables with a diameter of twelve millimetres, which are attached to a crossbeam suspended from the glass roof, securely support the 36 levels. In addition, 36 cantilever elements, LED support systems and housings ensure the stable attachment of a total of 432 Lumiblade OLEDs from Philips, making the entire installation both functional and aesthetically perfect.
