Project details
DHL parking garage
Reutlingen, one of the largest cities in Baden-Württemberg, is setting a strong example for climate protection and sustainable urban development: an innovative facade greenery has been realized at the DHL parking lot. This project is part of the city's climate impact adaptation measures and was implemented in collaboration with the renowned industrial construction specialist Astron Buildings from Luxembourg.
In collaboration with Carl Stahl ARC, the façade greening specialist, the facade was designed right from the planning phase to provide an optimal basis for the greenery - both technically and in terms of design. The combination of functional industrial construction and ecological design shows what sustainable architecture can look like in practice.
The greenery improves the microclimate, reduces the ambient temperature through shading and evaporative cooling and contributes to air purification. An intelligent rainwater management system ensures that the plants are supplied with water while conserving resources. With this project, Reutlingen is underlining its claim to be a pioneer in the field of urban climate adaptation - and demonstrating how forward-looking solutions can be created through cooperation between the city, business and innovative construction partners such as Astron Buildings.
