Ernst-Reuter-Platz
The Residenz am Ernst-Reuter-Platz is a high-quality residential building in the center of Berlin. Its proximity to the Technical University and major companies allows for short commutes to work, while the family-friendly design of the apartments also appeals to families with children. The building comprises a total of 141 residential units with 2 to 5 rooms as well as some commercial space. The residence is characterized by its open and modern architecture. A special feature is the wave-shaped facade, which gives the building a harmonious and dynamic appearance. A railing infill was therefore required for the balconies, providing both safety and transparency. Instead of rigid materials, the architects opted for a filigree solution that does not obstruct the view of the Berlin panorama.
For the implementation of the railing fillings, the X-TEND® stainless steel cable mesh was used. A total of 700 m² of stainless steel cable mesh was installed. With a cable diameter of 1.5 mm and a mesh width of 30 mm, the mesh provides a discreet, transparent look while meeting the highest safety requirements. The flexibility of the X-TEND® system allowed it to be precisely adapted to the curved shape of the balconies - an ideal solution for the requirements of the residence on Ernst-Reuter-Platz. The filigree structure of the mesh supports the modern, light appearance of the architecture and at the same time allows an unobstructed view of the surroundings. Thanks to its adaptability and stability, X-TEND® is not only visually appealing, but also functionally convincing.
The residence on Ernst-Reuter-Platz shows how modern living space design and innovative security solutions can work together harmoniously to create a unique living experience.
