EXPO2010 Swiss Pavilion
The Swiss Pavilion at the EXPO 2010 in Shanghai impressed with a 17-meter-high Flashing Facade, a masterpiece of modern architecture and technology. The interactive facade combines 10,000 red LED lights with solar cells to create a dynamic interplay of light and movement.
At the heart of this unique construction is the X-TEND® CXA Stainless Steel Cable Mesh, which covers an area of 3,800 m². With a mesh width of 200 mm and a cable diameter of 4 mm, the mesh was precisely attached to an I-SYS® edge cable system with a diameter of 16 mm. This combination not only ensures maximum stability, but also a filigree, aesthetic appearance that underlines the technological claim of the façade.
The Flashing Facade combines cutting-edge technology, sustainable materials and innovative design principles to create an impressive example of forward-thinking architecture. The award-winning construction shows how functional elements can merge into an overall artistic experience that is both aesthetic and sustainable.
