EXPO Milano 2015 - German Pavilion

With the "Fields of Ideas" concept, the German Pavilion at the EXPO in Milan presented an impressive combination of architecture and sustainability. Stylized "idea seedlings", equipped with organic photovoltaic modules from Belectric OPV, grew out of the exhibition space and formed a fascinating canopy.

The customized X-TEND® stainless steel cable mesh ensured that the photovoltaic modules were securely tensioned. It combined functionality with design, stabilized the construction and at the same time set the solar trees visually in scene.

Visitors were able to playfully explore the topics of water, soil, climate, biodiversity, food and ideas for the future with a SeedBoard - an installation that was awarded "Best Interactive Installation".

The German Pavilion showed how sustainable architecture, innovative technologies and appealing design can form an inspiring whole.
