The independent secondary school in Leipzig not only offers its more than 1,600 pupils an innovative learning environment, but also an architecturally impressive sports facility on the roof of the school. This special facility enables sports lessons and leisure activities at lofty heights - an ideal combination of exercise and safety.
To minimize risks, the school management and architects decided to install the roof system with an X-TEND® CXE stainless steel cable mesh to secure the roof system. This resilient mesh protects against accidents by both preventing falls and making climbing more difficult.
The independent Rahnschule Leipzig, founded in 2004, enriches Leipzig as an educational location and covers all stages of life from kindergarten to graduation. After quickly gaining popularity, the school moved to the Graphic Quarter in the south of Leipzig. Here, great importance is attached not only to education, but also to artistic development. Musically gifted children have the opportunity to attend the renowned music school.
In addition to intellectual and artistic activities, the focus is on physical exercise. The modern sports facility on the roof offers space for activities such as basketball, soccer and handball. The X-TEND® stainless steel cable mesh with a mesh width of 40 mm ensures optimum safety.
While the children play on the safe rooftop facility, the independent Rahnschule Leipzig focuses on open and inclusive education. The aim is to enable all children - regardless of origin, age, education, disability, religion or gender - to participate in social life on an equal and self-determined basis.
