Comprehensive school Aspe Bad Salzuflen

The Aspe school center in Bad Salzuflen combines comprehensive school, grammar school and secondary school in a modern learning environment. After three years of construction, the comprehensive restructuring was completed in 2021, giving each type of school its own area. With around 650 pupils, the secondary school is a central part of the school center and impresses with its innovative design: The new building consists of three buildings and is the largest school made of wood in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The connecting corridors between the buildings were equipped with X-TEND® Stainless Steel Cable Mesh. Covering a total of 424 m², the stainless steel cable mesh not only ensures reliable fall protection, but also protects against vandalism. The two-storey tensioning system provides an unobstructed view of the surrounding landscape and blends harmoniously into the modern architecture.

The appealing design of the X-TEND® Mesh served as a template for the design of the mullion and transom glass facades in the break hall. In collaboration with BUND, a bird screen was created here that picks up on the mesh geometry. The school's guidance and orientation system is also based on this, which gives the overall appearance of the school center a coherent and modern look.
