Project details
Kitzsteinhorn "Top of Salzburg", Kaprun
High up on the Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun, Austria, visitors to the "Top of Salzburg" panorama platform can expect a breathtaking panoramic view that stretches from the majestic peaks of the Watzmann to the Zugspitze. At an altitude of 3,029 meters, the highest point accessible to visitors in the Salzburg region, the platform impressively combines an experience of nature with modern architecture. In order to offer visitors a safe experience at this extreme height, our X-TEND® stainless steel cable mesh was installed here as balustrade infills. The mesh with a mesh width of 30 mm and a cable diameter of 1.5 mm ensures maximum safety without compromising the unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains.
The demanding conditions at over 3,000 meters, characterized by strong winds, snow loads and extreme temperature fluctuations, require a particularly robust solution. The X-TEND® CXE stainless steel cable mesh is not only durable and stable, but also weather-resistant and maintenance-free - ideal for use in alpine regions. With its filigree structure, X-TEND® blends harmoniously into the minimalist design of the platform and emphasizes its modern aesthetics. At the same time, it guarantees an unobstructed view of the surrounding Alps and makes the panorama platform a special highlight for alpinists and visitors alike.
The "Top of Salzburg" panorama platform on the Kitzsteinhorn shows how X-TEND® stainless steel cable mesh can offer maximum safety, functionality and design even under difficult topographical conditions. They are a perfect solution for ambitious construction projects in challenging environments.
