Klinik am Eichert Göppingen

With 937 parking spaces, the new parking garage at the Alb-Fils Clinic is one of the largest in the district of Göppingen. Once the new hospital is completed, a total of 1,350 parking spaces will be available, around 100 more than before. The building, constructed with 600 tons of steel, is not only functional, but also sustainably designed: It has four charging stations for electric vehicles and provides convenient access with two barrier-free elevators. The X-TEND® CXE Stainless Steel Cable Mesh plays a central role in the facade design. Meshes with a mesh width of 80 mm and a cable diameter of 2 mm were installed over an area of 4,000 m², extending across the seven floors of the building. This open facade solution reduces the need for artificial lighting and air conditioning as it ensures natural air circulation.

The cable meshes serve as climbing aid for a green facade. Especially in spring and summer, the climbing plants give the parking garage a green touch that harmoniously embeds the building in its surroundings. The structure relies on reduced stainless steel fixings at the edges of the meshes and intermediate cables that ensure the stability of the mesh surface without compromising the aesthetics.
