In Nijberkoop in the Netherlands, the Felida Big Cat Sanctuary offers rescued big cats a safe home. The sanctuary is part of FOUR PAWS' international animal welfare program and takes care of lions and other predators that have been rescued from poor husbandry conditions. From May 2024 until probably September 2025, the site is to be equipped with new, species-appropriate enclosures that offer the big cats more space and freedom of movement.
For the new enclosures, bright X-TEND® CXL stainless steel cable meshes are used, which are characterized by high stability and transparency. With a mesh size of 50 mm and a net cable diameter of 2 mm, the meshes blend in unobtrusively with the natural environment while offering the animals maximum and long-lasting security.
With this measure, the Felida Big Cat Sanctuary is sending a further signal for the protection of big cats and the creation of species-appropriate habitats.
