Project details

Rainbow Bridge, Los Angeles

In Long Beach California, a new bridge artwork has been created using our LED light module systems. The shape of the bridge is reminiscent of a large wave breaking over the pedestrian walkway and carrying a sea of colorful LED Dots. The bridge connects the Convention Center and the Performing Arts Center. The 180-meter-long bridge consists of 76 steel ribs.

Steel cables with a diameter of 10 mm were tensioned between these steel ribs, which serve as fall protection and support structure for the LED Dots. Special stainless steel were produced to position the LED Dots on the cables and enable installation and, if necessary, maintenance. A total of 3500 LED Dots generate dynamic color content that is controlled via DMX.
