Rhine Lounge Wiesbaden

The Rheinlounge in Wiesbaden offers top-class gastronomy that is characterized by more than just delicious food and drinks. The restaurant, located directly at Schierstein harbour and thus on the banks of the Rhine, creates an exceptionally cozy atmosphere. Guests can not only enjoy a breathtaking view of the Rhine, but also watch the numerous boats in the harbor. This unique combination of culinary highlights and the special location has made the Rheinlounge one of Wiesbaden's most popular dining hotspots since it opened in 2019.

The Rheinlounge's terrace, which is located directly on the water, is particularly popular with guests. However, its design posed a challenge: On the one hand, reliable fall protection was required to ensure the safety of guests. On the other hand, this safety feature should not obstruct the unobstructed view of the Rhine and the boats in the harbor. In addition, the location on the water requires materials that are resistant to moisture and rust.

The architects found the solution in the combination of our X-TEND® stainless steel cable mesh and the frame system FRAMEWORKX® XT2. X-TEND® stainless steel cable meshes are particularly rust-resistant and therefore ideal for use near water. With a cable diameter of just 1.5 mm and a mesh width of 40 mm, the X-TEND® mesh offers reliable fall protection without impairing the view of the Rhine. The filigree structure ensures an almost unobstructed view, giving guests an incomparable experience. A total of 74 m² of X-TEND® mesh was installed in FRAMEWORKX® XT2 frames, which not only offer safety, but also blend harmoniously into the modern design of the terrace.
