Technical City Hall
At the Technical City Hall in Friedrichshafen, the existing building structure was supplemented with a cantilevered trellis. Assemblies of stainless steel cables were integrated into the “ structure ” in various combinations to serve as climbing supports for the vines.
A particular challenge was the connection of the structure to the existing structure. Anchors and load connections had to be integrated into both the existing building and the ceiling of the underground parking garage below.
A total of 820 m ofthe I-SYS® Stainless Steel cable system with 8- and 10-mm cables Cable diameter was used. In the upper section, a 145 m²X-TEND® Stainless Steel-Cable Mesh complements the structure and serves as a horizontal Fall protection for cantilevered photovoltaic modules.
