How does a striking landmark become a 360° media facade? In the heart of the Aspire Zone in Doha stands The Torch Doha, a 300-meter-tall tower whose iconic torch shape catches the eye even from a great distance. Originally built as a symbol of the 15th Asian Games in 2006, the tower sets new standards with its spectacular LED facade.
LED dots that can be controlled individually via DMX were installed on the existing facade cladding using specially developed mounting clips. Approximately 165,000 light points transform a facade area of about 11,400 m² into an impressive 360° media facade.
With a " height " of about 130 meters, the Torch Tower is not only architecturally extraordinary, but has also been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest external 360° screen.
An impressive example of how existing architecture can be reimagined through precisely planned mounting solutions and innovative lighting technology—without losing the building’s distinctive form.
