Project details

Wilhelma bonobo enclosure

Wilhelma in Stuttgart, a zoological and botanical garden in the Bad Cannstatt district, is known for its impressive diversity of species and the naturalistic design of its enclosures. These features attract one million visitors to Wilhelma every year. A large outdoor enclosure was built for the bonobos, which offers the animals plenty of climbing opportunities to do justice to their natural behavior.

The enclosure structure consists of black X-TEND® stainless steel cable mesh, which is not only robust and safe, but also low-maintenance. The openness of the mesh allows the outdoor enclosure to blend seamlessly into the natural environment while providing a safe and functional solution that gives the bonobos plenty of space.
