Project details

Primate enclosure

Jihlava Zoo in the Czech Republic, founded in 1957 and officially recognized as a zoo since 1982, is picturesquely situated in the Jihlávka river valley, just a ten-minute walk from the city center. Covering an area of around 9 hectares, the zoo is home to over 1,300 animals from around 260 species and is particularly well-known for its specialized breeding programmes for big cats, primates and reptiles.

One of the zoo's latest attractions is the modern primate enclosure, which offers the animals a species-appropriate habitat and impressively recreates the natural environment. For the design of this enclosure, X-TEND® stainless steel cable mesh was used for the design of this enclosure, which specifically meets the requirements for safety and functionality.

The X-TEND® cable mesh is tailored to the needs of the primates with individually adapted mesh sizes and cable diameter. This tailor-made solution ensures that both the safety of the animals is guaranteed and the structural requirements of the enclosure are optimally met. The material is also characterized by its durability, ease of maintenance and resistance to a wide range of weather conditions. Thanks to its open structure, the cable mesh blends seamlessly into its surroundings and promotes a natural sense of habitat. It offers the animals space to move freely and at the same time provides the necessary safety.
