Krefeld Zoo Jaguar enclosure
Krefeld Zoo, located in the Bockum district, is one of the most important zoological gardens in North Rhine-Westphalia, covering an area of 14 hectares. Since its opening in 1938, the zoo has been home to more than 1,000 animals from around 170 species and places a special focus on the species-appropriate keeping of its animals as well as on educational and species conservation projects.
The jaguar enclosure is an example of the successful implementation of these principles. To ensure longevity and robustness, X-TEND® stainless steel cable mesh was installed in the jaguar enclosure. This cable mesh provides an almost transparent barrier that allows the animals to live in an environment as close to nature as possible while at the same time giving visitors an undisturbed view of the jaguars. Thanks to the use of stainless steel cable mesh, the enclosure is particularly resistant to the elements and requires minimal maintenance.
