Ostrava Zoo, located in the picturesque east of the Czech Republic, is one of the largest and most important zoological institutions in the country. Covering a generous area of around 100 hectares, the zoo is home to an impressive variety of animals from all over the world. With over 400 species from different continents, Ostrava Zoo not only offers a unique experience for visitors, but is also heavily involved in species conservation and education. Particularly noteworthy are the natural enclosures and innovative exhibition concepts, which benefit both the animals and the visitors.
A modern habitat was created in the zoo's primate enclosure, offering the animals the opportunity to move around in an environment that is modeled on their natural habitat. In order to meet the high safety and functionality requirements, X-TEND® stainless steel cable mesh was used, which fits perfectly into the overall concept of the enclosure thanks to its flexibility and aesthetics.
The X-TEND® cable meshes were individually tailored to the needs of the primates by adapting the mesh size and cable diameter. This tailor-made solution ensures that the animals are both encouraged to move freely and enjoy a safe environment. In addition, the stainless steel cable meshes are durable, easy to maintain and resistant to a wide range of weather conditions, making the enclosure a stable and permanent habitat for the primates.
